Start your morning at the highest point in the region. We’ll take you to a stunning viewpoint where you can see the entire lunar landscape, fairy chimneys, and distant volcanoes without the climb.

A UNESCO site and a must-see. This is a massive complex of cave churches carved into the rock by early Christians. You’ll walk through 10th-century chapels and see incredibly well-preserved frescoes that still look vibrant today.

Avanos & Pottery Workshop

A charming town divided by the Red River (Kızılırmak). It’s been the heart of pottery-making for 4,000 years. You’ll watch a master potter use a traditional kick-wheel and, if you’re up for it, you can get your hands dirty and try it yourself.

Paşabağ (Monks Valley)

This valley features the most famous mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys. Long ago, monks lived here in total seclusion. You can walk right up to these towering formations and even see the small rooms carved inside them.
